Top weight taken by me 13lbs 8oz of roach rudd and small skimmers all to bread punch at 4 meters to hand nice days fishing.The canal was frozen over at the start and the ice had to be broken befor starting even so we still managed to catch 88lbs of fish between us.Agood day had by all every body takeing home some prizes.Top in each section had a turkey each and every one else had wine spirits and chocolates.

The raffle took £85.00 going to the R.N.L.I.

Highest weight of the season at 66lbs 7oz taken by Gary Thorton from Exeter fishing worm and maggot on feeder .He had 12 bream and skimmers up to the 1lb mark.Second was Ian Turner from Worksop fishing the same methord on the motor way to railway bridge section Also takeing 11 bream but smaller fish.Third was Paul Purches on end peg 171 takeing 8 bream in the first 2 hours then the swim died.

On a hard and very clear river Tim Rowe managed to catch 10 bream averaging 3lbs each to amass a total of 32lbs 7 oz fishing hard to the north bank on worm and magget feeder from peg 79 near Woolavington Bridge. Lance Tucker finished second with 17lbs 9oz also fishing feeder he was 2 pegs below the clapper on peg 114

A signe of the times this match normally attracts 120 anglers but this year only pulled 12 teams 48 anglers.It was a close match with only 4 points seperating the top 5 teams with Bathampton Avon Aquatics Blue scoring 16 points for first place and a payout of £500 for there effort .Second place went to Maver Veals blue with a score of 18 points and a pay out of £316 .Top spot went to A.Ottaway of Bathampton with a weight of 21lbs 1oz fishing worm on the tip to take bream to 3lbs and small skimmers on pole at 13meters on caster.A lot of the top weights were cought on pole in close with most weights made up of small skimmers roach and the odd bream .

Fish and Method
I.Pauley was the only one to find any large bream on the day .Most anglers cought small skimmers ells and small roach plus perch.Fish were taken on the tip and close in on the pole at 9 meters and at 11 meters.Skimmers were takeing choped worm through the feeder and small roach were takeing maggot on the pole.

Bream were the main fish cought on worm and magget feeder .More small fish showed up as the weather got warmer on the inside line to pole.

Thatchers Silver the winning team was made up of R.Jones N.Evens N.Ewers and Chedzoy .They ended up with 20 points and a cheque for £1000 for there efforts.Bridgwater A.A would like to thank I.Parsons and Sensas U.K for there support in makeing this match a success.
